What is it about? đź‘€
We are excited to introduce Scheduled Actions, a powerful new feature in the Purple Hub designed to let you plan and automate future modifications to your articles. Instead of manually setting publishing or unpublishing times, you can now schedule these changes in advance. Whether you need to plan a future publish date for an upcoming announcement or automatically unpublish time-sensitive content, Scheduled Actions ensures your content is always up to date without requiring last-minute manual work.
With Scheduled Actions, editors can create multiple future events—even of the same type—allowing for more flexible and strategic control of content visibility.
How to use it
-
Enable Scheduled Actions
- An administrator must activate this opt-in feature in your Purple Hub settings.
- Once enabled, users with the Purple Editor role will see the “Scheduled Actions” section in the sidebar of the article editor.
-
Define Your Actions
- In the article editor, look for the “Upcoming Actions” area in the right sidebar.
- Click “Add Action” to schedule a publish or unpublish event.
- You can add multiple actions, even if they are of the same type. For example, set an article to publish for a limited time, then unpublish, and republish again—all automatically.
-
Review and Manage
- All your scheduled events will appear in the “Upcoming Actions” list.
- To edit or remove an action, simply open its settings and adjust as needed.
- If an article’s publishing date is set to the future, you’ll automatically see a corresponding scheduled publish event in the list.
Benefits 🤓
- Automate Content Management: Reduce manual tasks by predefining when an article goes live or gets unpublished, freeing up time for more strategic work.
- Flexible Scheduling: Plan out complex visibility changes—like multiple publish-unpublish cycles—in advance and manage them all in one place.
- Streamlined Workflow: The clear “Upcoming Actions” overview ensures you never miss an important update or deadline.
- Reduced Errors: By scheduling in advance, you minimize the risk of forgetting to publish or unpublish critical content on time.
